Continuing the 50ft pen series with part 8, Jeff Christiansen shows you how to extend off balance flanks. The dog is making great progress and Jeff explains:

  • that a trainer needs to keep challenging the dog with increased degrees of difficulty
  • the need to start changing the handler's body positions
  • what each body position presents to the dog
  • to not let the dog dive in to the stock after they pass the handler
  • how easily a dog trying to dive in can be corrected because of the previous corner work
  • quitting the work on a positive note
  • always maintaining the “off switch” that we labored to originally teach
  • and much more!
